Unplug the range. Open the oven door and remove 3 screws under the top edge. |
Remove 2 screws on the front face of the oven. Lift the cooktop. |
Remove the latch from the burner box and detach the actuating rod. |
To remove the door switch, lift the cooktop as described above. Squeeze the retainer tabs on the switch and push it out toward the front of the range. You may have to tap it. |
Disconnect the wires from the terminals. Attach a new switch to the terminals and push it back into the hole until the retainer tabs click into place. |
Unplug the range. Remove the back cover and the control cover. Disconnect the wires from the latch motor and switch. Remove the 2 screws from the latch motor bracket. Unhook the latch rod from the cam. |
When the oven is set for SELF CLEAN, the motor rotates, pushing the latch rod and moving the latch to the locked position as determined by the cam on the motor. The latch will remain locked until the oven temperature drops below 500° F. At that time, the motor will rotate and pull the latch to the open position. |
